County road department

Last week, I called the county road department and left a message for foreman Richard Jackson. I asked if a sweeper truck could sweep the sides of two steep roads in Alta Sierra, which were repaved a few years ago but still had loose gravel along the sides. I know of one person who already has slipped and fallen on it.

Knowing that most county departments are understaffed (and underpaid), I didn’t expect a response. But the next day, sweeper trucks wee here cleaning up the roads.

A big “thank you” to Richard, Jim, the area 21 Alta Sierra crew, and all our county road workers who keep us safe, both summer and winter.
