County may see snow today

If you’re planning to spend a lot of time working outdoors or heading to the ski slopes today, be prepared to pack an umbrella or snow chains.

The National Weather Service is forecasting showers for Nevada County today, with snow levels approaching 4,500 to 5,000 feet, decreasing to 3,500 feet this evening.

That will lead to decreasing showers Thursday, with no snow forecast for that day.

Partly cloudy skies are forecast Friday, with a good chance for sunshine this weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s Sacramento office.
