County man joins the state Senior Assembly

Larry Channel of Nevada County will be one of 120 Senior Assembly members sworn in Monday when the California Senior Legislature convenes in Sacramento.

The Senior Legislature is comprised of volunteers age 60 or older, who are elected by their peers and meet annually to develop a legislative agenda for seniors.

Approximately 55 proposals will be reviewed and debated during the three-day session. On the final day, assembly members will vote on their top 10 state and top four federal legislative priorities.
