County can’t ban free speech

Nevada County can ban signs on private property? What is this about, and since when did they come up with the brainy idea that they could usurp my right to free speech, on my own property, no less? What is going on here?

NH 2020 is not the issue now. Free speech is, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a “No on NH 2020” sign! Know anyone who would lend me one? Preferably a very big one!

I am a decorated infantry veteran of the Vietnam war, and a very vocal opponent of that war when I got home. The free speech wars are not new to me, but I thought that I had retired from that 30 years ago. I guess not! Now some bonehead in this county government wants to tell me what I can say and cannot say about a local issue, on my own property. I can walk up and down the the streets of Nevada City and Grass Valley 24 hours a day carrying one of those signs, and I can’t plant one on my own property? The ACLU is only a phone call away. I just hope the supervisors show some courage, and will pay for their share of the lawsuit out of their own pocket, and not burden the taxpayers of Nevada County for their personal ineptitude and totally unconstitutional edicts. Does anyone think for a minute that those idiots are not behind this stupidity? Bring on the signs. The bigger, the better! The Web page for the ACLU is
