Could they be twins?

Just caught up on my reading after returning from spending the holidays at my wife’s ancestral stomping grounds in frozen Michigan. Three observations: 1) After reading the Sac Bee article, I don’t see how Messrs. Ackerman and Engles can have strong differences of opinion when they share such a prominent similarity! Look at those foreheads! Identical! 2) Whoever the new editor is, I hope he/she revisits your policy of publishing almost every letter received. Consisting mostly of uncivilized insults and absurd charges from the radical left, but also with a smattering of excessive Bible-thumping and crowing over election results from the far right, many of the letters you publish generate heat, but no light.

They really have no place in The Union unless you admit to depending on sensationalism rather than journalism for your circulation numbers. It’s a cop-out not to make choices. Don’t publish trash. I trust your judgment, and even if I didn’t, it’s your newspaper! 3) Most importantly, a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year to all of you, and may God continue to bless us, every one!
