Congregation B’nai Harim hosts speaker

What do these men have in common: the Nazi administrator for Hitler’s final solution program, the political thief in the Watergate scandal, and the U.S. lieutenant supervising the My Lai Vietnam massacre? They all claimed to be just following orders.

Leah Subotnik will discuss what answers social psychology research has found and discuss the implications for education, child-rearing, peace and war this Sunday.

The event will be at the Nevada County Jewish Community Center, 506 Walsh St., in Grass Valley.

Leah and Leo Subotnik moved to Nevada City in 1989. Leah Subotnik currently serves on the Congregation Adult Education committee.

Leah Subotnik is a retired licensed psychologist. In her Minnesota practice, she helped children, adolescents and adults and was a resource to over a dozen counties in evaluating childhood cases of sexual abuse.

She has made presentations both nationwide and internationally in Norway, Canada, Wales and Finland. She has also taught elementary through graduate school and published research on play therapy and wife battering.

There will be opportunity for discussion afterwards and refreshments will be served.

This event is open to the public.
