Confused at point of disc golf letter

Re “Police, give disc golfers a break” (letter to the editor, Feb. 19): I was quite confused at the point of the article. Were they being harassed by the police? Then OK, but I have never seen any police on the disc golf course, nor do I feel the park is a safe or clean place – people have really torn the area up.

Also, when they mentioned “partaking in this healthy and safe sport” and then mention “such as smoking cigarettes outside designated areas. etc. (Which, by the way, only has one bench set aside for smoking),” it is in no way healthy or safe. If you want to smoke, do it in your own house as I do not want to smell it. Nor should it be done in a park where there is a fire hazard that no insurance will cover if you start one.

So before you go off with your complaints, take a minute to think about what you are really saying….
