Company issues recall of birth control products

The manufacturer has issued a nationwide recall of the Lunelle birth control products distributed to Nevada County clients of the county’s Community Health Clinic.

Pharmacia is issuing the recall because it cannot guarantee the potency of the pre-filled syringes, increasing the risk of pregnancy.

The Nevada County Community Health Department is asking all women who use the product to contact the clinic staff at 265 1451. Clients will be offered a free pregnancy test and an alternative birth control method.

For more information on the product recall, contact Pharmacia toll free at 1-800-691-6813, or visit the Web site at http://www.lunelle.com.
