Column was harsh

Re the Other Voices column, “Touchy subject, this Israel situation,” June 4:

It saddens me to read these words against the nation of Israel and its people. It seems to me that Mr. Tracy has fallen victim to vile propaganda and lies. The article was brazen and harsh. The United States of America stands for freedom and democracy, and so does Israel. There is no Berlin Wall, only a fence to keep terrorist from blowing up more buses (some carrying kids to school) and murdering fathers and daughters and entire families while dining in restaurants.

How could a person even begin to compare victims of the Holocaust? The Jewish people were “always” the victims; they had no choice.

Hatred has no place here, and demonizing Israel is wrong.
