Soroptimist International of Grass Valley has received $2,500 from Wells Fargo Bank for the group’s KARE crisis nursery project.



The KARE board is working toward the purchase of a building to house the nursery.

Resources

Community Recovery Resources, formerly known as the Nevada County Substance Abuse and Treatment Center, is holding its annual fashion show and luncheon at 11 a.m. Nov. 2 at Trolley Junction. The function benefits the Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Prevention and Treatment Program.

The models for the event are from the Lake Wildwood 18- and nine-hole golf groups, Hope House and Soroptimists

Nevada County Women’s

Bridge Club

New officers are Sarah McTighe, president; Ann Gray, vice president; Joyce Rowe, treasurer; and Mirriam Jones, secretary. Winners for this month’s meeting were Barbara Gault, Mildred Varnadoe, Ann Gray and Barbara Barnewolk.

Hosts were Fern Oehler and Mary Good. New members were Barbara Gault, Fae Harris and Barbara Barnewolk.

The club meets the first Friday of the month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Golden Empire Grange on La Barr Meadows Road. Visitors are encouraged to attend; partner are not required. For more information, call Joyce at 273-7809 or Sarah at 639-9887.
