Clerk-Recorder Lorraine Jewett-Burdick, claims

Clerk-Recorder Lorraine Jewett-Burdick, claims to have “cut wasteful spending.” True? Hardly. Consider the following:

She increased the payroll by $40,000-plus per year by adding the position of assistant clerk-recorder. It was eliminated in 1995 when its court duties were turned over to the courts.

She drove out five employees in her first year-and-a-half, losing the office 59 years of irreplaceable experience.

That resulted in three claims against the county. One was settled for $10,000 in favor of the employee. Two more are pending.

How is that saving money? I’m voting for Kevin Waggoner.
