CHP to increase patrols as of Friday

The California Highway Patrol will begin stepped-up patrol Friday of high-complaint areas in western Nevada County.

The CHP’s Grass Valley office was funded for extra work hours to focus on problem areas. The added patrol will occur certain days throughout the year, CHP spokesman Troy Marks said, declining to identify the areas.

Officers will enforce collision-causing violations such as speeding, right-of-way violations, improper turns, crossing solid yellow lines and driving under the influence.
