Child-care class slated

The western Nevada County chapter of the American Red Cross is offering its California Child Care class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 22.

Although designed for day-care providers, the class will also benefit new parents, grandparents and anyone interested in updating or refreshing their infant and child-care skills.

The class meets state AB243 requirements for day-care provider licensing. The Saturday class includes certification in adult, infant and child CPR, and pediatric/child first-aid and safety. The Sunday class addresses health and safety issues surrounding child care. Class fee is $90.
