Censure President Bush

As a parent I find it really troubling to raise a child in today’s world. I have taught my children to be honest, hard working, and dependable. My children know about the three branches of the government, the executive, judicial, and legislative. They have learned about the checks and balances put in place, by our forefathers, to keep these branches honest.

So why is the executive branch now above the law? Children know that if they do something wrong, they will be punished. Why would we change the rules for Bush ? Bush is not being punished for his role in spying on the American people. Censure is the first step toward holding the president responsible. George Bush is our public servant. He is not a monarch. He works for us, the American people.

If Bush is not held accountable by Congress, the legislative branch, then we are saying that it is OK to break the law. So where does that leave us as parents? I salute Senator Feingold for standing up to the Bush Administration and holding them accountable. Please call, or write to Senator’s Boxer and Feinstein today. Show your children that honesty is still the best policy.
