Celebrating 104 years of living

Simone Bezaire, a resident of Spring Hill Manor Convalescent Hospital, celebrates her 104th birthday today.

Mrs. Bezaire was born in Montreal, Canada, is of French-Canadian descent and is fluent in French. She worked as a dietary aide in a hospital but devoted the majority of her time to her family.

Mrs. Bezaire lived in Canada until she was in her mid-40s, then she moved to Southern California. She moved to Grass Valley in 1975, where she lived on her own until she was 91 years old. Since then, she has been lovingly taken care of by the staff of Sierra View Manor and Spring Hill Manor.

Mrs. Bezaire has two daughters, Leora and Geraldine, and two sons, Robert and Girard. She also has 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
