Cartoon was misleading

It grieved me to see the anti-Semitic note captioning the cartoon of the crucified Christ. How wrong!

We need to beg forgiveness of the Jews for the persecution they have suffered at the hands of so-called Christians over the centuries. Jesus died on that cross because of the sin of every one of us, Jew and Gentile alike. We are just as responsible for Calvary as they.

True Christians, born-again and living in obedience to the word of God, owe a great debt of gratitude to the Jews. Our heritage is rooted in Judaism and we have a deep spiritual connection to them. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave us the Old Testament, which reveals His character and holiness and points to man’s need for salvation through His promised Messiah. The New Testament is actually the completion of God’s revealed word, written by Jews who recorded the finished work of Messiah, and became the first Christians.

So when a depiction of the crucified Christ causes distress don’t blame the Jews; instead repent for the sin that nailed Jesus to that cross and rejoice that we have a risen Savior!
