Can’t afford the fair

I believe the lower attendance at the Nevada County Fair is a direct result of our failing economy. My family just could not afford to go. I guess only the top 20 percent of families, who now have over 50 percent of the country’s wealth, could go to the fair.

Middle-class families are finding it impossible to afford the pleasure of a day at the fair. Many of us are having to assist our children as they cannot find decent-paying jobs or reasonably priced housing. Our government, from the White House down to the county level, is not doing anything about this problem. Time for a change!
