Candidate Kerry truthful about Vietnam experience

John Kerry is a hero. John Kerry had the courage to testify against the atrocities of Vietnam history has clearly shown Vietnam to have been a huge atrocity and a huge mistake. I will not read the testimony Mr. Kerry gave, because I can never forget the incredibly horrible stories I heard from relatives and friends returning from Vietnam. I simply do not want to read about it again, it hurts too much.

Apparently the author of “Kerry betrayed men in Vietnam” (Feb. 10) never saw the picture of the baby on the bayonet of an American soldier. I did, unfortunately, and the picture is burned in my mind. I don’t think anyone has anything good to say about the Vietnam war. And I truly believe history will not have anything good to say about the war in Iraq, either.

In the face of such adversity, standing up to the truth is what heroes and leaders are made of. Mr. Kerry has clearly shown his honor, his courage, and his ability for accountability and truth, quite unlike the leader we have today.
