Camptonville driving tour scheduled

Friends for the Preservation of Yuba County History is hosting a driving tour to the early mining town of Camptonville Sept. 28.

This is where the original Pelton wheel was invented by a local resident, eventually revolutionizing hydroelectric power throughout the world.

Meet in front of the Pelton wheel display at 10 a.m.

Leland Pauley, a local historian, will lead the tour.
