Butterfly stakes honor Memorial Day

Friends of Hospice invites the public to the Butterfly Garden of Remembrance on May 25-28 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.

The three metal butterfly sculptural frames at the front of the garden were made and donated by Craig Reuter. Nearly 500 colorful garden stakes in the shape of a butterfly, along with personal messages to a loved one, will be displayed.

Friends of Hospice began the fund-raiser for the community to express love and loss over the Memorial Day holiday.

A $15 donation for each remembrance will benefit Hospice, a community-based nonprofit organization that provides care for patients and family during all phases of loss.

To participate, pick up reply cards at B&C Garden Center, Weiss Bros. Nursery, Happy Frog Garden Center, Hospice of the Foothills, Hooper and Weaver, Ruby’s or Foothill Flowers.
