Bush’s bombing proposal un-American

I am greatly concerned about President Bush’s plans for war with Iraq. He is taking a dangerous and seemingly irrational direction. What he is proposing appears to be a completely unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation.

I love America, but his plans do not represent what America stands for. His war would reduce America to the level of the worst and most oppressive, aggressive and undemocratic governments in history. It would be wrong, and it would not be American.

I would like to see our government representatives uphold the Constitution of the United States and bring back ownership of the authority to declare war to Congress. If the need for war becomes the only option, then so be it. Until that time, there is no clear reason for it, there is no international support for it, and there is no support from the American people for it.
