Bush manipulating us

George W. Bush is pushing hard to convince the American public that Social Security needs to be reformed through privatization. He is doing this by constant repetition that this is a crisis even though there are more conservative and level heads in Congress who disagree.

We would do well to remember the last time he used this tactic and got this country involved in the war in Iraq. We heard over and over that weapons of mass destruction existed and we must make sure they were not used against us. We all now know that they did not exist and there were other reasons President Bush was so eager to become a presence in Iraq.

Let us not be so easily convinced by this current advertising and pressure campaign. We all know that constant repetition is an effective advertising tool and Bush is using this tactic to convince the public even in the face of congressional skepticism.

I must admit some bias as I am a Democrat, but I know when I am being manipulated and pressured with no substantiating evidence.
