Arbor Day Foundation giving away trees

Ten free American redbud trees will be given to each person who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation during February.

The trees are part of the nonprofit foundation’s Trees for America campaign.



The trees will be shipped postpaid and ready for planting between March 1 and May 31. The 6- to 12-inch trees are guaranteed to grow or will be replaced free of charge.

To become a member of the foundation and receive the free trees, send a $10 contribution to Ten Free Redbud Trees, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave.., Nebraska City, NE 65810 by Feb. 28.




Workshop on plans

for Brunswick set

A workshop on plans for Brunswick Road, from Sutton Way to Highway 174 will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Nevada City Council Chambers, City Hall, 317 Broad St.

To be discussed are alternatives for the Brunswick-Loma Rica Road intersection, including a Loma Rica Drive connection to Idaho Maryland Road, the Loma Rica Drive connection to Greenhorn Road, and Loma Rica Drive realignment to connect with Brunswick.
