Parking permits for downtown Grass Valley will be sold at the Grass Valley Police Department, 129 S. Auburn St., beginning Sept. 27.

For $40, permit holders will be allowed to park in the city’s permit lots at South Auburn and Neal streets, North Auburn and Richardson streets, the west side of the Police Department off South Auburn Street, and behind the Center for the Arts.

Permits are valid Oct. 1 to Dec. 31. For more information, call the Grass Valley Police Department at 477-4600.

Hoedown Picnic and Barn Dance

A Harvest Hoedown Picnic and Barn Dance will take place from 4 p.m. to dusk Sunday at the Steber Ranch on Rock Creek Road in Nevada City.

Ragged But Right will play bluegrass music for dancing. There will be games, prizes and more.
