NID extends pipeline comment period

The public review period for the draft environmental impact report for the Lower Cascade Canal/Banner Cascade Pipeline Project is being extended by the Nevada Irrigation District.

NID Chief Engineer Tim McCall said the original comment period, which was set to close Friday, was extended 45 days because of inconsistencies between the different media forms of the document. The forms included printed copies and CDs sent to governmental agencies and citizens and the project Web site. NID is taking steps to locate and correct all inconsistencies and will reissue the report within a few weeks.

For more information, call 273-6185, ext. 260.
