The Pine Tree Quilt Guild of Nevada County invites friends and neighbors to join us in celebrating our 20th anniversary at our annual “Spring Time in the Pines” Quilt Show. The show is May 1 and 2 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

To enter a quilt for our show, you don’t have to belong to the Quilt Guild but entry forms must be filled out and returned by March 7. Quilts must be in good condition; hand or machine quilted (not tied) and must not have been shown in the Nevada County or any of the surrounding counties during the last five years.

Grass Valley quilter wins award at festival

Charlotte Patera of Grass Valley won Judges’ Choice at the recent International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.

The quilt, “Touch Tone Dilemma,” was entered in the Art Small category in the International Quilt Association’s annual judged show, Quilts: A World of Beauty.

She was among 408 finalists in the competition that attracted 826 entries from around the world.

The quilt was on display at the 29th International Quilt Festival in November at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
