Catholic Healthcare West, which runs Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, has awarded grants totaling $45,000 to three area medical nonprofit groups. They are the:

Alzheimer’s Council of Nevada County, $20,000; Lutz Center Adult Day Services, $10,000; and Miners Community Clinic, $15,000.

The Alzheimer’s Council grant will support a program of respite care for caregivers, and other needs.

Grant funds will be used by the Lutz Center to help provide transportation and adult day services for seniors.

Miners Community Clinic will use the money to fund abreast and cervical cancer screening program for low-income women.

“Perspective on 9-11,” a compilation of films including Barrie Zwicker’s “The Great Deception,” Eric Hufschmid’s “Painful Questions” and the History Channel’s “Sacrifice at Pearl Harbor,” will be shown at Tuesday’s Film Forum in Nevada City. Sponsored by the Peace Center of Nevada County, the Film Forum is 7:35 p.m. every Tuesday at the Magic Theatre, 107 Argall St. For more information, call 470-9797.
