Boulder Street appropriately named for its roughness

Last week’s letter from a Yuba City resident regarding Boulder Street should act as a wake-up call to the city of Nevada City. The shockingly poor condition of the section of Boulder between Sacramento Street and the new City Maintenance Yard is an embarrassment to the city and a hazard for all who drive it on a regular basis.

Cars have to weave back and forth across the road in the vain attempt to find the least rough street surface to drive on. The street is so rough that cars actually lose nuts, bolts, tire weights and more while driving over it… and forget about trying to play a CD while on it.

It should be particularly embarrassing that the city’s maintenance yard sits at the top of the worst-maintained street in the city! Wake up and fix the road, Nevada City, or just drive up Boulder Street, that will wake you up for sure!
