Body of missing San Juan Ridge man ID’d

A body found June 22 in Yuba County has been determined to be that of a San Juan Ridge man missing since January.

Donald Cole Deselms, 52, was last seen by his brother on Jan. 26. Deselms, who went by “Cole,” lived near Murphy Road and Tyler Foote Road in a camp and out of his car.

He was reported missing on March 13, and was reportedly in poor health. His body was located near a stream, about a quarter-mile from his brother’s property in Yuba County.

According to the sheriff’s office, Deselms’s body had been near the creek for at least several months, as evidenced by the condition of the body. The cause of death was most likely health-related, and there were no signs of foul play, according to the sheriff’s office.
