Board should reverse

At the beginning of Bush the Lesser’s evil acts of war in Iraq, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, against the strong and vocal advice of many of its more thoughtful citizens, voted to support the U.S. troops in Iraq and the president’s policies.

Now that the war is known to be based on lies, fabrications and manipulation of the media – and thus the citizenry and their leaders – and now that thousands of troops have been killed, mangled, dismembered or psychologically destroyed and thousands more are seeking asylum in Canada or otherwise refusing to further participate in the tragic travesty of this illegal, bloody and useless war, I urge the Board to rescind its hasty and blind support of the slaughter in Iraq and the administration that so cavalierly orchestrates it from the safe comfort of its plush corporate-funded bordellos.

At the very least, we can stand apart from it.
