Blood donors get free phone card

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have a community blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday.

This month and December, donors will receive a free 30-minute phone card from BloodSource as part of a nationwide effort to build up blood supplies.



Donors can give blood at Grass Valley United Methodist Church, 236 S. Church St. Donors must have photo identification and are requested to eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating.

Free parking is available in the church’s lot on School Street between Neal and Walsh streets.
