Beware of thieves

Yes, neighbors, our neighborhood is not as safe as we think. Lock up – thieves are among us.

I reported to the police July 8 that my granddaughter’s leather purse backpack with her insulin and supplies had been stolen out of her mom’s unlocked car in front of our house.

Mom came to pick the kids up after work, parking in front. Mom and I didn’t realize that my granddaughter had put her backpack into the car, then returned to the house to help gather more things to take home. When we asked if they had everything, including her backpack, that’s when we found out that she had already put it into the car.

Well, to our shock in returning to the car, in those few short minutes the backpack was gone. The lesson, even if for a few minutes: lock up, be aware.
