Beware: NH 2020 may resurface

The first three words of the Constitution are “We the People…” not we the Board of Supervisors.

The Declaration of Independence states “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” And, “In every stage of these Oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury …” And, “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”

The Bill of Rights, Fourth Amendment: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated …”

The people of Nevada County have repeatedly addressed the Board of Supervisors, voicing their objections and opposing the intent and process of NH 2020, only to be ignored. A request was made to place NH 2020 on the ballot in the last election, which was turned down by the BOS.

Next, the BOS tried to have the No and Stop NH 2020 signs removed from private property. This is how much respect the supervisors have for private property. They will claim they had nothing to do with the process for the removal of the signs, and if that is really true, then who is really running the county?

Now, after all the meetings held by the county, NH 2020 groups, and the continuing objections of the citizens of Nevada County, the time has come to stop addressing the BOS.

Now is the time for citizens of Nevada County for form a militia to preserve freedom and property rights for all the people. If we are going to stop this tyranny and oppression, we need to spend our money on a method that will work.

Because one board member has requested the NH 2020 process be completed by July doesn’t mean it won’t rear its ugly head after the November election is over.

United we stand, divided we fall.
