B and Bs attack unfair

I read Mike Drummond’s column March 19 regarding his take on bed and breakfasts. I’m sure he thought he was being humorous.

However, his insensitive remarks about our industry were harmful if read by someone who has no experience staying in a B&B. For one point, all inns in Grass Valley and Nevada City have private baths for all rooms. Too, most people who go to B&Bs enjoy the camaraderie of talking with other guests – that’s part of the pleasure of the stay. Lastly, after an uninformed reader finishes Mr. Drummond’s assessment, who would want to go to, or have any visiting family/friend stay at at bed and breakfasts?

Perhaps Mr. Drummond should think twice before attacking a business that brings much needed dollars to our community.
