AT and T rips folks off in new way

I love the other letters that The Union published about AT&T’s changing of the local cable channel lineup. Here’s something no-one mentioned and AT&T wants kept “hush-hush.”

AT&T moved all the premium pay channels off the lower band. Like, HBO was on channel 3, Showtime was on channel 20 and so on. They instead moved all the “premium” channels to a much higher frequency. The reason for this is simple: money.

I have a “cable-ready” TV, so I did not need to rent a cable converter box from AT&T. But by moving the channels, my TV no longer receives the “premium” channels. If I still want those channels, now I have to pay even more fees. Now I’ll need to rent the box, too.
