As retired psychologists, we

As retired psychologists, we unfortunately were not surprised at the events of Jan. 10, 2001. Years ago, while we were in training, we were given the statistic that at any time, 10 percent to 15 percent of the population was suffering from a mental health problem.

Getting the funding to support mental health programs is time-consuming and often unappreciated. While in the midst of the recall effort of last summer, Izzy Martin spent innumerable hours in Sacramento searching for funding for the mental health program in Nevada County.

We support this dedicated public servant.
