As more people move here, park a necessity

Thank goodness the dream of a Loma Rica Ranch Park is still alive and well. We have a greater need for this open space – a place for walking, jogging, riding, biking and even just sitting – as the GV/NC area becomes more populated.

Let’s hope the public can acquire the whole 357 acres on the east side of Brunswick Road. This would include the 60-acre horse ranch, an important part of the interesting history of our area.

The Loma Rica Ranch property with its meadows, streams, trees, and trails is already a park. It doesn’t have to be developed. State funding and grants are available to begin to cover the costs of acquisition. Let’s make our dream a reality.
