Art show

With 108 separate class displays, the 2007 “Young At Art” K-12 student art exhibition at the Rood Center is the largest ever at the county administrative center. The amazing diversity of art styles and creativity exemplifies the dedication of local art teachers, classroom teachers, community artists, art docents and parent volunteers who taught the art lessons and set up the displays.

Kudos to the schools participating in the exhibition: Alta Sierra Elementary, Bear River High School, Deer Creek Elementary, Forest Charter, Gold Run Elementary, Grass Valley Charter at Bell Hill, Grizzly Hill, Hennessy Elementary, Lyman Gilmore Middle School, Magnolia Middle School, Mount St. Mary’s Academy, Nevada City Elementary, Nevada City Home Study Charter, Nevada City School of the Arts, Nevada Union High School, Scotten Elementary, Seven Hills Middle School, Union Hill, Twin Ridges Home Study Charter, Union Hill Home Study Charter, Vantage Point Charter and Yuba River Charter.

Thanks also to Tom Coburn, Nevada County facilities manager, for assisting the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office in organizing the annual exhibition, which continues through May.
