Arrest would have saved man’s life

Re “Murder charge in crash,” Jan. 8:

I don’t get it … the guy shows up at his ex-wife’s house after midnight, she’d had a restraining order on him in the past, she’s scared as hell and calls a friend, who calls the police, who talk to her and find out that he hasn’t slept in five days (sounds like crank to me), he’s on supervised probation for drug abuse and has an open beer.

Was it too close to break time or a shift change? I’ve been arrested myself for much less than that. When you’re on probation in this county, they take you in for anything they can. Gotta keep that jail full so they can build a new one.

But sounds to me like they had a legitimate reason to arrest someone this time. There would be one less death, and a guy who would be in a whole lot less trouble.
