Are you prepared to be a target of war?

We have long accepted that in war, bombing civilians and civilian targets is not terrorism but a tool of war.

During the Civil War, General Sherman burned to the ground the beautiful southern city of Richmond. Hitler’s Luftwaffe bombed to destruction the Spanish city of Guernica and its civilian population.

The United States again affirmed this “tool of war” in 1945 when 3,000 of our bombers firebombed the city of Dresden, virtually leveling “the pearl of Europe” and nearly annihilating its population. As Sherman said, “War is hell.”

The Pentagon’s current plan to first “demoralize” Iraqis by heavily bombing the beloved ancient civilian city of Baghdad validates further our belief that in war, civilians and their cities are fair game.

In this war, the United States will be an invading enemy, hated by millions of the world’s 1.6 billion Moslems. The administration’s recent advisories to prepare for major attacks against citizens in our homeland are well-advised.

In war, “murder” and “terrorism” become “tools of war.” The ocean will longer protect us. “Homeland Security” will not secure us. Communication and energy grids, you and I personally, our children in their schools, we’re about to become justifiable war targets. Are you prepared?
