Another of history’s long list of madmen

The Union has published many anti-war letters. An Other Voices contributor (Jan. 27) exhorts others to leave their comfort zones. This narration reads more like a school field trip, and the writer appeared to have had a joyous experience and berates other for alleged apathy. I suggest that there are many who support not war, but the need to make America and the world safer

The “Top Ten” (Jan. 28) features another anti-war presentation that reads more like an anti-Bush hit piece. Both writers appear to have relegated the tragedies of Sept. 11 to irrelevance.

The fire in Nevada City last year elicited great concern by many who many can’t seem to comprehend the enormity of these terrorist attacks.

We have learned that many of the anti-war protests have been planned by left-wing organizations. These writers may not fall into this category but are certainly aiding these anti- American activities.

This is not about oil, the military-industrial complex, another Vietnam, Bush friends or any other idiotic analogy. It is about taking out another of history’s long list of madmen.

I hope others will write in support of our president’s plans to do whatever is necessary to prevent future terrorist attacks.
