Dan and Emogene Woodard of Nevada City celebrated their 60th anniversary recently. They were married Jan. 28, 1942, in Carson City, Nev., in a double ceremony with an aunt and uncle.

The couple’s children were hosts to a belated family dinner party in April at the Trolley Junction Restaurant. Special music was performed by the Sierra Sound quartet.

The Woodard children are Sheryl Lange of Chico, Jana Woodard of Yuba City, and Keith Woodard of Valley Springs. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Woodard retired as superintendent of the Nevada City Elementary School District in 1975. He is a member of the Association of California School Administrators, Retired; and past president of the Nevada City Rotary Club. He enjoys woodworking and reading.

Mrs. Woodard is a retired secretary. She is past president and past secretary of the Inner Wheel Club of Nevada City. She enjoys writing letters and playing cards.

The Woodards were avid golfers, and members of the Nevada County Country Club for 20 years.

The Woodards have lived in Nevada County for 33 years.
