Maureen and Art Richardson of Grass Valley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. They were married April 19, 1952, in Alameda.

More than 70 family members and friends gathered at the Castro Valley home of their son and daughter-in-law Tom and Julie to celebrate the occasion.

The Richardsons’ other children are Jim of Danville, Cindy of Alameda, Ken of Benicia, ,Dan of Fairfield and Jenny of San Jose There are 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Richardson is a retired graphic artist and police composite artist for the Bay Area Rapid Transit District. His hobbies include cartooning, woodworking and golf. He also enjoys working at the Cancer Aid Thrift Shop and at the Empire Mine as a docent.

Mrs. Richardson is a retired secretary. She is also a docent at the Empire Mine and works at Cancer Aid. She enjoys reading and crossword puzzles.

The Richardsons have lived in Nevada County for six years.
