Gene and Joyce Hatton of Grass Valley celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary recently. They were married Nov. 3, 1932, in Seattle.

They will celebrate with a dinner at the Holbrooke with family and friends.

The Hatton children are Gene “Skip” Hatton of Nevada City and Diane Bailiff of Emporia, Kan.

There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hatton retired in 1965 after 31 years with Sears. He belongs to the Masonic Lodge and is an avid volunteer. He enjoys travel, golf, hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Hatton is a homemaker. Her interests include gardening, travel and volunteer work.

The Hattons have lived in Nevada County for 40 years.
