Virginia and Frank Goodrich, of Alta Sierra, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September. They were married Sept. 13, 1953, in Folkston, Ga.

“Cruising Through Our 50 Years” was the theme of the celebration, hosted by the couple’s children: Don and Jamie Goodrich, Mary Goodrich and Virginia Van Fossen, all of Grass Valley; Leanne Rechenmacher of Dallas, Tex., and Diana Ver Halen of Portland, Ore.

Over 100 family members and friends joined the couple in Alta Sierra to celebrate the day. Special guests included Howard and Betty Huizing from Redondo Beach. Other family members traveled from Alaska, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Southern California. A blessing was given by the Rev. Ed Neuenschwander, with a buffet dinner following.

Mr. and Mrs. Goodrich are members of the Roamin Angels Car Club. A minicar show of their era was showcased with their red 1954 Mercury, a lemon yellow 1950 Mercury convertible and a 1952 Rolls Royce.

Mr. Goodrich is co-owner of Auto Service Center. His other interests include woodworking and traveling to ancestral places.

Mrs. Goodrich’s interests include genealogy, traveling to ancestral places, and the couple’s 10 grandchildren.

The Goodriches have lived in Grass Valley for 15 years.
