Harry and Lois Bailey of Grass Valley recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were married on March 31, 1942, in Berkeley.

Friends and family gathered March 31 for an open house that included a 60-year photographic retrospective of the marriage. Guests traveled from Silverton, Ore.; Santa Cruz and Sacramento.

The Baileys’ children are Jeannie Darling of Nevada City, Glenn Bailey of Silverton and Nancy Bailey of Lesotho, Africa. There are six grandchildren.

Mr. Bailey is a retired civil engineer. His interests include environmental and social justice issues, the Audubon Society and the Religious Society of Friends.

Mrs. Bailey is a retired early-childhood educator. Her interests include the Friends and the American Association of University Women.

The Baileys have lived in the area for 28 years. They previously lived in Sylmar.
