Angry at disrespectful behavior

I am 14 years old and a freshman at Nevada Union High School. I love America, and unlike most people my age, I’m deeply interested in politics and America’s economy. I cannot describe the anger I feel when I see kids my own age, my fellow Americans, disrespecting our wonderful country. They wear our flag upside-down and laugh about the horrible tragedy of Sept. 11. When they do this I think to myself, what makes them think that they have the right to do something like that? Then I remember it’s because we are fortunate enough to live somewhere where we do have that right, because our country stands for freedom and liberty. And we all have the freedom of speech. I just wish they could understand that the only reason they can disrespect our flag and nation is because thousands of men died fighting for it.
