Amnesty oil/filter collection this week

Nevada County farmers, ranchers and small-business owners can legally dispose of stored used motor oil and filters this week under an amnesty collection program.

The collection program, sponsored by the county Department of Transportation and Sanitation, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chicago Park Fire Station No. 2, 18934 Colfax Highway.

Only uncontaminated oil will be accepted, and the limit is 55 per load Appointments are required. To make an appointment, call 1 (800) 733-9043. For additional information, call 268-3775.
