Alzheimer’s program still active

Many have asked about what became of our local Alzheimer’s fund-raiser. It is still going strong but in a different form. Thanks to the SNMH Foundation, grants have been written and funds raised annually through donations honoring those lost to, or still struggling with, “The Long Goodbye,” through the volunteer-funded “Memory Garden.” The garden is near the beginning of the Litton Trail. Two care managers work with families in their homes or at the office in Grass Valley.

This program is named the “Alzheimer’s Outreach Project” (previously, “The Alzheimer’s Help Line”). Help may be obtained by calling 274-6155.
