All of us want peace, but not at any cost

Florence M. Carson

One wonders about the logical outcome if the wishes of the radical peace movement would prevail, if our country would succumb to their desires.

They have the privilege to vehemently protest because they live in this country. Their freedom to do so comes because of the sacrifice and blood of others whom they despise – the military and the leadership of a determined president to protect our country.

They loudly proclaim their rights, but what would they have if their wish for their brand of peace led to our domination by a country like Iraq: no rights for women, no freedom of speech, and no freedom of the press. Poverty would prevail, with the rulers living opulent lives not open to scrutiny. And they couldn’t object for fear of death. Their kind of radicalism undermines the very foundation of our liberties.

All of us want peace, but not at that kind of cost!
